(playable in browser.)

I wrote the original version of this game (called simply "Robots!") specifically for Android phones in Java using the libGDX framework.
I then ported it to Windows, Linux, and web browsers in order to become more familiar with the Godot engine.

This game is an attempt to fix what I thought was a deficiency in the design of games like Robots (https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Robots).

It was specifically designed to have an old school, simple, arcade feel, and I'm pretty satisfied with it. I also know at least 3 kids who have enjoyed it. (For kids, I recommend the 99 lives cheat. On the main menu, click on the title 5 times).

This is super fun! Makes you think about moves the farther you go. Jumping over robots and collecting microchips. Simple gameplay like this is good. Audio is nostalgic!

I'm glad you like it! I think there's a lot to be said for smaller, more arcade like experiences.
Not to the exclusion of larger projects, of course, but limitation breeds creativity, as they say.
Developing it was an interesting exercise. I began with another game as the base, tweaked things, and then discovered new issues that need to be addressed.

Aye. Limitation breeds creativity. The art reminds me a lot of Robotron which is awesome and gameplay legit feels like old school arcade goodness during the arcade growth of the early 80s

I made it to level 4 and set my high score. Are they actually hosted?

Unfortunately not. It's just local to your browser or machine.
But I have some server space, and that would be a good update!
